From tiny twirls to powerful performances, at Tamalyn's Dance Centre, there's something for every age and experience level. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to advance their technique, our classes are designed to inspire confidence, creativity, and skill development in a supportive environment.
We offer a diverse range of styles, including:

Private lessons are also available by request for students seeking one-on-one instruction or choreography support.

Twinkle Toes
This is the perfect introduction to dance for the 2.5-3 year old student! Students wear traditional dance attire with soft ballet shoes for this fun, creative 30 minute class. Ballet and tap style movements are taught, along with basic tumbling. Students also learn basic classroom etiquette, such as "wait for your turn", " follow directions", "stand in one spot".

Rhythm Tap
Tap dance uses shoes with metal plates on the heel and toe to create percussive sounds by striking the floor. Dancers use specialized steps and overall body movement to create a rhythmic, visual, and auditory experience.

Ballet Classes
Pre-Ballet
This level provides our 3 and 4 year old students their 1st ballet class! Our young dancers learn beginning ballet movement. It is designed to inspire creativity and instill the love of dance as well as teach cooperation and classroom skills.
Ages: 3 to 4 years old

Tuesday,  5:50pm - 6:20pm (CLASS FULL)
Primary Ballet
This level of ballet teaches the foundation techniques for dance and choreography, in a fun environment. Students begin learning the French terms used for Ballet, worldwide.
Ages: Returning 4 year old and beginning 5 year olds.
Wednesday, 4:30pm - 5:15pm (CLASS FULL)
Saturday, 10:00am - 10:45am
Ballet 1A & 1B
Level 1 continues to build on basic technique as our young dancers mature. Dancers learn ballet steps through a combination of floor and barre work for the 1st time.
Ages: 6 and up
Ballet 1A: Monday, 5:10pm - 6:00pm (CLASS FULL)
Ballet 1B: Monday, 4:15pm - 5:10pm

Ballet 2A and 2B
In these levels, students will continue to develop ballet skills, and focus heavily on technique. The class is a combination of floor and barre work. Young students who hope to dance en pointe one day are recommended to take the two ballet classes a week, which is first offered at the 2A Level.
Ages: 7 and up.
Note: Pointe training is introduced to 2B students who are physically and technically ready.
Ballet 2A: Monday, 5:15pm - 6:15pm,
Tuesday, 4:15pm - 5:15pm
Ballet 2B: Monday, 4:30pm - 5:30pm,
Thursday, 6:15pm - 7:45pm

Ballet 3-5
These levels are for our intermediate and advanced ballet students, with the permission of the instructor. Classes are taken 2-4 times per week.
Ballet 3A/3B: Tuesday, 4:20pm - 5:50pm; Wednesday, 6:00pm - 7:15pm
Ballet 4: Monday, 6:00pm - 7:20pm; Thursday, 4:15pm - 5:15pm
Ballet 5: Monday, 6:00pm - 7:20pm;
Thursday, 4:15pm - 5:15pm
Ballet 4/5: Tuesday, 6:20pm - 8:00pm
Pre-Pointe
Pre-pointe teaches the beginning foundation for pointe work. This class must be combined with two ballet classes per week.
Pre-Pointe 2B: Monday, 5:30pm - 6:00pm
Pointe
Pointe classes are for intermediate and advanced ballet students and require permission from their instructor. To maintain proper training levels, a minimum of two ballet technique classes must be taken each week, in addition to pointe class.
Pointe 3A/3B: Wednesday, 7:15pm - 8:00pm
Pointe 4: Monday, 7:20pm - 8:20pm;
Thursday, 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Pointe 5: Tuesday, 7:20pm - 8:20pm
Thursday, Thursday, 5:15pm - 6:15pm
Contemporary
Contemporary dance focuses on natural body movement, use of body weight, efficiency of muscle use and safe body alignment as well as an increased focus on personal interpretation, self-expression, awareness of space and a strong use of established Modern Dance technique. Classes start with a comprehensive warm-up and gradually build up to more elaborate movement sequences.
Contemporary 1/2: Wednesday, 6:00pm - 6:45pm

Jazz
Jazz dance is a vibrant, energetic style emphasizing individuality, unique moves, intricate footwork, expansive leaps, and rapid turns. A strong ballet foundation is crucial for grace and balance. We're integrating Musical Theater into our Jazz curriculum, applying jazz technique to distinct Broadway choreographic styles.
Jazz 2/3: Tuesday 7:00pm - 7:45pm
Jazz 4/5: Tuesday, 4:15pm - 5:15pm
Adult Jazz/Hip Hop: Wednesday, 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Hip Hop
This dynamic class is a fusion of classical dance technique with the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling, and partnering. It is based in flexibility, contortion, and strength. You may recognize common acro skills such as handstands, bridges, walkovers, or aerial cartwheels.
Hip-Hop 1: Tuesday, 6:15pm - 7:00pm
Hip-Hop 2: Wednesday, 5:15pm - 6:00pm (CLASS FULL)
Hip-Hop 3: Thursday, 5:15pm - 6:15pm
